AIRMACHINE
AIRMACHINE
With his Airmachine the Czech composer Ondřej Adámek creates an instrument from scratch, a polymorphous and very supple instrument, allowing virtuoso possibilities and many subtleties of timbre.

Made up of a wind tunnel and multiple air outlets, the machine can set in motion and/or make vibrate different objects and instruments, each more peculiar than the next: dozens of harmonic flutes in PVC, membrane clarinets, latex membrane aerophones, and many more.
When not handled by a performer, the em>Airmachine can be “played” by a computer that has a very precise control over the different airflows – it is the very principle of this installation. We are familiar with the barrel organ: this is its digital era successor! An enthralling show, both audibly and visually…
