The Actuel Remix duo revisits some of the great contemporary pieces by remixing them with works from some of the biggest names of today’s electronic music scene.
After their first opus #01 Metropolis (where they brought together the music of Iannis Xenakis and that of Richie Hawtin for Fritz Lang’s film), the duo decides today to tackle Heiner Goebbels’ music (present in Lyon in March 2014 for the Biennale Musique en scène), mixing it with pieces from Sven Vath, Ricardo Villalobos, and others…
Now and then, the American saxophone player Colin Stetson comes along that, through audacity, originality and technical mastery, manages to completely astonish us. This Montrealer by adoption has also managed to seduce Arcade Fire, Boniver, Tom Waits and Feist, all counting among his collaborators. For his first appearance in the festival, he offers a solo demonstration of his art.
For this new show the Magnetic Ensemble choses to immerge more deeply in its electromagnetic spectrum. The band adds 3D video images created by The Gropue LAPS and multicast sound to its captivating, organic rhythms, in other to create a show that surpasses sensory limitations and immerses the audience in a sort of collective synaesthesia.
Wearing anaglyph 3D glasses, the spectator becomes a guest in this contemporary masqued ball, entering a very different world, made of sounds and sensations, with a story being written before his very eyes and aesthetics he can almost touch…
