In case there were any doubts, the Tango is today even more alive and vivid than ever! The two young composers Tomas Bordalejo and Fernando Fiszbein - both Argentineans, and both living in France - revisit this intense music that lulled their childhood.

Translated in a distinctly contemporary language, the Tango takes on influences that reveal the two composers’ personal passions: the jubilatory rhythms of improvised music, Chamamé, jazz manouche and Venezuelan Joropo for Tomas Bordalejo; atypical research and reinvention of instrumental sound and a fascination for organic and ramified form in the case of Fernando Fiszbein, whose exceptional sense of humour should not be ignored. In the service of this 21st century Tango, the combined talents of Pascal Contet, a protean and adventurous accordionist if there ever was one, and the Travelling Quartet, whose very specialty is to (re)invent repertoires fit for its unique arrangement: two violins, cello and double bass.
