THE BIANNUAL AT LUX
THE BIANNUAL AT LUX

Smartland is a globe of Smartphones that communicate between themselves, hearing each other and responding, lighting up autonomously like fireflies. The audio material used is recorded laughter. The installation creates rhythms by playing fully with this happy, human, touching and even strange material… The public is invited to take part in the installation.

As the visitor comes in contact with the surface of the Monolith, it disclosed its moods and feelings by way of sound and lights. When not approached, the Monolith has a life of its own, letting off discreet light and sound effects. But when “awakened” and harmonizing with the public’s gestures, it becomes an instrument that produces sound phenomena and musical sequences.

Air Machine, a new instrument conceived and created by the fascinating Czech composer Ondrej Adámek, is composed of vacuum cleaner wind tunnels, toys, balloons… It is a sort of unusual, animated organ. The piece is an agglomerate of tubes, valves, and all kinds of quirky sounding objects. It is an artwork to be seen and heard, a piece that exudes happiness and playfulness.
