Clicks, buzzes, pieces of data, databases and metadata: these are composer Riojy Ikeda’s raw materials, as well as his research subjects – not so much because of the noises they generate, but for what they can produce once they are re-read, reinterpreted, re-transcribed. Born in 1966 in Japan and currently living in Paris, Riojy Ikeda gained recognition on the electronic music scene, first as a DJ and then as a sound artist, finding inspiration in the plastic beauty of mathematical and computer science theories.
